Bazlama (Turkish Flatbread)
Here’s a quick recipe for making Bazlama, a delicious Turkish flatbread. It’s perfect for pairing with dips like hummus or as a side for various dishes!
- Ingredients:
- 500g plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 150ml warm water
- 150ml milk
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the salt and yeast.
Add the olive oil, warm water, and milk. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
Let it Rise:
Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise for at least 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Dough:
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape each into a ball.
Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface to approximately 1cm thick.
Cook the Bazlama:
Heat a large crepe pan or skillet over medium heat.
Cook each flatbread for a few minutes until bubbles start to form. Flip and cook for a few more minutes until golden brown.
Finish and Serve:
Remove from heat and brush with a little butter or oil.
Serve immediately with hummus or your favorite dip.
