Rich, chocolatey treat

Craving a rich, chocolatey treat? Look no further! Nana’s Devil’s Food Cake is the answer to your sweet tooth dreams. This classic recipe delivers a moist, decadent cake that’s perfect for any occasion.

Here’s how to whip up this chocolatey delight:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup coffee, cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (160°C)–350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your pans: one 9×13″ dish, two 9″ round pans, or three 8″ round pans.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add oil, milk, and cooled coffee to the dry ingredients. Mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Then, add eggs and vanilla, and beat for another 2 minutes. The batter will be thin.
  4. Bake: Pour the batter into your prepared pans. Bake for about 45 minutes for the 9×13″ dish or 30 minutes for the round pans. Test with a cake tester or toothpick; it should come out clean.
  5. Cool: Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes before removing from pans. Cool completely before frosting.

Enjoy this delicious, chocolatey treat with your favorite frosting or simply as is!
