– 3 lb chuck roast (1.5 kg)
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 1 oz dried onion soup mix (30 g)
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 gold potatoes, diced
– 3 large carrots, chopped
– ½ cup water (120 mL)

  • Preparation:

1. Season the Roast:
– Place the chuck roast in a 7-quart (6 ½ liters) slow cooker.
– Season generously with salt and pepper.

2. Add Soup Mix and Vegetables:
– Sprinkle the dried onion soup mix over the roast.
– Add the diced onion, potatoes, and chopped carrots around the roast.

3. Add Water:
– Pour ½ cup of water over the vegetables and roast.

4. Slow Cook:
– Cover the slow cooker with its lid.
– Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
