Classic Bangers and Mash

  • Ingredients:
  1. 1kg potatoes, peeled and diced
  2. 8 large sausages (good quality)
  3. 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  4. 250g Savoy cabbage, finely sliced
  5. 4 spring onions, finely sliced
  6. 5 tbsp milk
  7. 50g unsalted butter
  8. Salt and pepper
  • Method:
  1. Prepare Potatoes: Boil diced potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and return to the pan with milk and butter. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  2. Cook Sausages: Heat oil in a pan and fry sausages until golden-brown and cooked through.
  3. Cook Cabbage: Boil cabbage leaves until tender, then drain thoroughly.
  4. Combine: Stir spring onions into the mashed potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Top with the cooked sausages and serve with cabbage.
