- Ingredients:
- 500g/1lb 2oz ready-made puff pastry
- Plain flour, for dusting
- 1 free-range egg, beaten
- 8 herby sausages, cut in half
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Small handful fresh thyme leaves
- Method:
- Preheat Oven: Set to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6.
- Prepare Pastry: Roll out pastry on a floured surface to a 48x32cm/19×12½in rectangle. Gently bash with a rolling pin to reduce puffiness.
- Cut Pastry: Cut into 16 rectangles.
- Assemble Rolls: Brush one end of each rectangle with beaten egg. Place a sausage piece at the other end, season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Roll up to enclose the sausage.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 20 minutes to firm up.
